Posted in Basketball at 12:32 pm by GC

Wayman Tisdale, a 3 time All-American at Oklahoma and a 12 year NBA veteran with Indiana, Sacramento and Phoenix, has passed away following an extended fight with the cancer that recently claimed his left leg.

Tisdale, a 1984 Olympic Gold medalist, was recently named a new inductee to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall Of Fame.  His career  totals of 2661 points and 1048 rebounds still stand as all-time marks at OU.

An accomplished left-handed bassist, Tisdale released 8 albums of pop-jazz recordings between 1995 and 2008.

How heavy my heart. I use to go to Arco Arena to watch Wayman thrill us all with his moves when he played for the Kings. I feel as though I lost a friend, a mentor in life. If I can be half the man he is then I really need very little to keep me going in life. I know Wayman is teaching a angle or two how to dribble a ball. I also know I will continue to wipe a tear for sometime knowing his family (and I ) have lost such a large part in our life!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for helping me to express my feelings and to help the healing process begin. I love you Wayman…thanks for the great moves!!!!! God Bless Gregg
