Today’s terrifying Mets press release is forwarded by the ever-dilligent Maura Johnston.

FLUSHING, N.Y. — The New York Mets today announced the creation of a new fan celebration song, “Our Team. Our Time,” which will play at Mets games during the 2006 season at Shea Stadium. The song will debut tonight as the Mets start a three-game homestand against the Atlanta Braves.

TJS Marketing Group of Smithtown, N.Y. and Breakthru Productions of Orange, N.J. spontaneously created the new song for the Mets following the off-season excitement and interest in the team and the Mets’ best start since 1985. The song plays off the 2006 Mets marketing slogan, “The Team. The Time. The Mets.”

TJS Marketing Group has 20 years of experience in advertising, marketing and business promotions. Breakthru Productions and Steven “Boogie’ Brown (above) have developed breakthrough music and promotion initiatives for the past 20 years.

Says Maura, “Surely there’s a Mets fan out there with better flow than these guys? or, heck, even a player?”

Hmmm. Does anyone know if M Bars is into the Mets? Or is he holding out for a Ratner purchase of the Marlins? Seriously, I hope the 1:10 version at Mets.com has only been edited for brevity — isn’t Jorge Julio worthy of a shout-out?
