Well, I heard the substance on Kevin Brown’s hand the other night were stem cells — can anybody verify? I think that’s what got Suppan involved. Loved how Cavieziel is sitting in front of the Jesus statue, just in case you forgot he once played Bobby Jones in a movie.

This ad is an attempt at a response to Michael J. Fox’s stem-cell related commercial for Claire McCaskill, the Democrat who’s currently leading (in the polls I’ve seen) in the race for Missouri’s open Senate seat. While I think it’s cool that a bunch of very wealthy athletes and “stars” are so concerned with preventing research that could help cure a disease they don’t have, the frankly harrowing-to-watch Fox ad is more effective, I think. Which is not to take anything away from Caviezel’s stirring Brando homage at the clip’s opening.
Also, if I didn’t know better, I’d guess that Mike Sweeney was the one who’d suffered a baker’s dozen concussions since 2003, not Kurt Warner. Who is clear-eyed, clear-voiced, and apparently being interviewed in his basement. And Neal Heaton looks pretty good, all things considered
