Pippen To Retire?![]() I'm getting a migraine trying to think of a scenario in which Scottie will skip the press conference and the Bulls will ask Toni Kukoc to speak instead. Instead, I'll try to remember that once upon a time, Pippen might've been the 2nd best player on the planet. He never won a ring without Michael Jordan, but he's not the only guy we can say that about. Despite threatening not to report, guard Gary Payton showed up on time to Celtics training camp in Waltham, MA, meaning that Boston will get at least one active player in exchange for Chris Mihm, Chucky Atkins and Jumaine Jones. As noted elsewhere, Rick Fox, no doubt saddened by the collapse of his marriage to the lovely handcuff lady, declared his retirement last week. Fox was always my 7th or 8th favorite cast member of "Oz", somewhere between the guy from Biohazard and Luke Perry, so I'll be sorry to see him go. From late-night dramedy.
