Jayson WIlliams' Unwelcome Return
When Byron Scott asked Bruce Ratner for the loot
to pay for another shooter, this is not what he had in mind. Perhaps inspired by
the Lakers' attempts to fashion a roster around a star with jail time hanging
over his head, former Nets forward Jayson Williams is said to be working out
with Elton Brand while contemplating a return to the NBA.
The Nets could always opt to bring in Rodney White as a free agent alongside Williams and rename the franchise in advance of the move to Downtown Brooklyn. With apologies to Abe Polin and Jeffrey Lee Pierce, The Gun Club has a nice ring to it.
