Because Every Team Needs Another Shooter

From the New York Daily News' Ohm Youngmusik :

Jayson Williams faces a reckless manslaughter trial in January and possible jail time on another conviction, but that isn't stopping the former Nets star from attempting a comeback.

Williams worked out with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, prompting his former coach, Paul Silas, to say he believes Williams "can certainly help somebody."

It most certainly won't be the Nets, who say they aren't interested in bringing back the former fan favorite, who was acquitted in April of aggravated manslaughter in the shooting death of limousine driver Costas (Gus) Christofi. Williams faces a retrial on Jan. 10 on reckless manslaughter charges and awaits sentencing on a conviction for covering up the crime in his rural New Jersey mansion in 2002.

"No," Nets president Rod Thorn said when asked if he would think about signing Williams.
