Davis' Trade Demand

As you've probably heard elsewhere, Hornets guard Baron Davis hit the headlines this week when his agent, Todd Ramasar, opined publicy that his client wanted to move to a contender. Davis, who has 3 years left on his 6 year, $84 million deal, clearly doesn't think the hiring of new coach Byron Scott is enough to compensate for a relatively quiet summer on the free agent front for New Orleans, who move to the Western Conference for 2004-5.

WIthout arguing Ramasar's contention that the Hornets didn't do enough to improve, I am curious which team he'd consider to be a contender that doesn't already have a starting point guard? Given the loss of Steve Nash in Dallas, it's tempting to wonder what the Mavericks would be like with Davis running the floor, but hard to imagine the former UCLA Bruin being satisfied as 2nd or 3rd option in Dallas' offense.
