Kirilenko Signs Extension, Jazz Lose Final Preseason Game

Andrei Kirilenko and the Utah Jazz have come to terms on a 6 year, $86 million extension. ESPN is reporting that much of AK's loot will be deferred, giving the Jazz some cash relief over the life of the deal.

Kirilenko had 10 points and 3 rounds in 21 minutes of exhibition action Thursday night in Utah's 89-83 loss at New York. The Knicks' Tim Thomas scored 23 on 7 of 10 shooting from the floor (a perfect 6 for 6 from the line) in a game that was every bit as exciting to watch as Bruno Sundov's name is to chant. 2nd round pick Trevor Ariza, in addition to voicing nearly dozens of Simpsons' characters, showed glimpses of breakout talent, scoring 12 points and collecting 9 rebounds.

Utah guard Carlos Arroyo suffered an ankle sprain and left the game in the first quarter.
