will do. The Mirror reports on Sunday's drama at The Crucible.
Feuding stars Quinten Hann and Andy Hicks almost turned the Crucible Theatre into a boxing ring last night. Referee Lawrie Annandale had to separate the pair after amazing scenes at the end of their bad-tempered Embassy World Championship first round clash. They squared up to each other as they went to shake hands at the end of their stormy encounter. Aussie southpaw Hann, surprisingly beaten 10-4 by the Devon left-hander, wanted to prolong the bout on the steps of the famous Sheffield venue. He later described it as "a bit of harmless fun" but still faces a disciplinary charge for a four-letter outburst during the game. ![]() (bad-ass) Referee Annandale was gagged from speaking about the amazing dust-up by the game's governing body. But the Scottish official admitted he had never experienced a similar incident in all his years on the circuit. Hann erupted after his shock early exit and admitted: "I would love to fight him. I said to him 'you are short, bald and always will be. You can have me outside anytime'. Kevin Spacey was unavailable for comment. Posted: Mon - April 19, 2004 at 07:04 PM |
