3Com Nostalgia Shattered By Naming-Rights Deal



ESPN is reporting that the former Candlestick will now be known as Monster Park, as the not-quite audiophile cable company pays $6 million for the rights to be associated with the declining San Francisco 49ers franchise.

CSTB's petition to have the facility dubbed the Tim Yohannon Memorial Stadium (replete with seats covered in green tape) was rejected on the grounds that it wasn't very funny.
