Bill Callahan Picks Up Where He Left Off In Oakland

Showing the same ability to rouse his new Nebraska charges that paid such handsome dividends for last year's Oakland Raiders, the Cornhuskers lost to Southern Miss today, 21-17, allowing 5 turnovers at home in what was only the 6th defeat suffered by Nebraska in Lincoln over the last 16 years.

(Callahan and QB Joe Dailey discuss which album was better, 'Red Apple Falls' or 'Rain On Lens')

Callahan's post-game press conference did not feature the coach lambasting his players for their stupidity, which is a bit of shame because there was really no other reason to watch the damn thing.

In South Bend, Notre Dame survived 3 Brady Quin INT's and came from behind to beat no. 7 Michigan, 28-20, making it 5 years in a row the Wolverines have lost their road opener. Though this result probably isn't enough to keep the alumni and other haters of the West Coast Offense from campaigning against Tyrone Willingham, this is a far cry from the Irish's performance last week against BYU.
