In more legal news, Florida Marlins backup backstop Ramon Castro will stand trial on charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assualt, sexual assualt and unlawful restraint. Kind of like the Kobe Bryant case except without the celebrity angle, racial overtones (that we know of) or anyone paying attention. Chances are slim that "Entertainment Tonight" will request press credentials for this one.

SF's Jose Cruz Jr. won a Gold Glove for his defensive performance in 2003 . The award winners are chosen by managers and players, and presumably the vote was taken before Cruz's miserable NLDS against Florida.
