Tejada Signs Monster Deal With The O'sRoch Kubatko of the Baltimore Sun is reporting
that 2002
AL MVP SS Miguel Tejada has signed a 6 year deal worth $72
million. Aside from taking a great player out of the AL West,
this deal should help set market value. If Tejada is worth $12 million a year
(coming off a disappointing 2003), Arn Tellem is going to feel that much more
justified demanding $15 million + for Nomar Garciaparra.
Baltimore seem inclined to spend prodigiously in the hunt for 3rd place in the AL East. At present, they are rumored to be contenders for the services of Ivan Rodriguez and Vladimir Guerrero. So this is tremendous news for Orioles fans, if they get all 3 of these superstars, they're only another 4 or 5 players away from having a shot at the playoffs. Admit it, you really wish you could pick up a telephone and say "Hello, this is Roch Kubatko." Posted: Sun - December 14, 2003 at 06:46 PM |
