Acting Manager Manages To Act Like An AssholeTony Muser plays God with the NL Batting
Title.
Maybe you missed this yesterday. "Muser said he wasn't aware the
batting title was at stake." Which makes sense, I mean, if you were coaching for
the Padres and still hoping for another short at managing someday after the
great job you did in Kansas City, you would probably be so focused on the matter
at hand that peripheral issues like the batting title, the new Outkast album,
opening weekend receipts for "The Rundown", MSN shutting down their chat rooms,
Nebraska adding cheerleading as a varsity sport, reoccuring famine in the Sudan,
etc. would escape your notice as well. So, while the rest of the sports media
gives Tony Muser a hard time today, let's remember that baseball isn't about
personal statistics. It's about preserving the sanctity of the 162 game schedule
and playing every game as though you're...uh....trying to fuck with Todd Helton.
