Deadbeat Mondesi Being Chased for $1Million, Millwood settles for $11 millionThe Dodger Thoughts blog has the scoop on Raul Mondesi owing onetime coach Mario
Guerrero a combined million bucks in commission plus interest. The Spanish
version can be found here.
How hot would it look for Raul to hit spring training with a Denver Boot attatched to his leg? Kevin Millwood avoided arbitration yesterday, signing a one-year, $11 million deal with the Phillies. Not bad for a guy that went 7-11 with a 4.55 era in the 2nd half (1-3, 5.94 ERA in September) and probably cost Philadephia the wild-card. As much joy as I get mocking Scott Boras and his clients' recent difficulties in the new marketplace, Millwood got a raise of $1.1 million over his 2003 salary. Though if he has another mediocre campaign, he and the agent will rue the day they turned down Philly's last 3 year offer. Posted: Wed - February 11, 2004 at 11:46 AM |
