Fuck The Donald And His Pathetic Rug

Granted, Kaz Matsui has sucked so far. Maybe not as badly as Vince Coleman or Roger Cedeno, but sucked just the same. But as much I respect everyone's right to shoot off their mouth, why should ESPN or anyone else give Donald Trump a forum in which to diss Matsui?

Asked on ESPN SportsCenter's "Budweiser Hot Seat" tonight for the athlete or manager he'd like to fire, Donald Trump replied, "Well, the problem I have with that is that I know so many of them, I don't want to embarrass anybody. But I would certainly say Kaz Matsui of the Mets has been a bust. There's no doubt about that. The rest of it I'm not going to answer because I'm friendly with all the owners, and I get great seats."

Can someone please explain the media's fascination with a puffed-up slumlord possessing zero charisma? I mean, it's great that he's so successful at getting dates with model-types from Eastern Europe (all of whom clearly are attracted to Trump's intellect, charm and good looks) and it's even more appealing that he's got a phobia about shaking hands that would render a person of modest means virtually unemployable. But other than that, who gives a fuck?

The Post's Mark Hale envisions the Mets making a run at Anaheim's Ramon Ortiz, while the Journal News' Peter Abraham suggests the Reds' Cory Lidle or ex-Met Paul Wilson as possible targets, perhaps in exchange for Ty Wigginton. Abraham's prognosis would obviously signal the promotion of David Wright, currently hitting .364 at Norfolk after previously tearing up the AA Eastern League.
