Jesse Hangs It UpFormer
Mets reliever Jesse Orosco announced his retirement yesterday. Orosco,
46, broke in with the Mets in 1979 and was on the mound for the final outs of
NY's 1986 NLCS and World Series victories. Orosco was the eldest player in the
major leagues last year.
With Orosco calling it quits, Mets "captain" John Franco is now the oldest active player at 44, not counting Julio Franco , who could be 46 or 50 depending on who you ask. Posted: Thu - January 22, 2004 at 02:44 PM |
