Lopez Hits 43 ; Tigers try not to hit 120

I'm fairly certain that if the Tigers had re-signed Roger Cedeno two years ago, they wouldn't have lost more than 110 games this year.

in case you missed it, more depressing news: Lopez breaks Hundley's Record . Of course, Todd's career year of '96 was before injuries and Bobby Valentine saying that Hundley needed more sleep. Which came before Bobby V. wondered aloud if Todd had a problem with Italians. I really hope Valentine is managing somewhere next spring, if only because it will give me something to write about every day.

On Wednesday night, Gary Cohen asked Bob Murphy what it was like to see a team lose 120 games. I can't remember Bob's exact answer but it was something along the lines of "kind of like watching the Mets this September --- all year long."
