PADRES : BLAND AMBITION

ravaged by fire, sartorially challenged

The San Diego Padres today unveiled their new logo, uniforms and color scheme for the 2004 season. Given the growing demand for the Padres' old brown & yellow, the new design is hard to fathom.

The new unis have as much pizzaz as the Milwaukee Brewers' current kit. Which is to say, none whatsoever. And they aren't nearly as effective at hiding fish taco stains as the brown & yellow scheme. Just because Trevor Hoffman has agreed to a big pay cut, it doesn't mean that San Diego should pass up money making opportunities.
