Alex Rodriguez was named the 2003 AL MVP earlier today. Jorge Posada and David Ortiz, each of whom had real impacts on teams that managed to reach the post-season, finished 3rd and 5th respectively.

Rodriguez also confirmed that Texas management has spoken to him about a possible deal . Elsewhere, there are reports that A-Rod and manager Buck Showalter are no longer speaking.
