LOW-CARB DIET LINKED TO RACISMhe should've tried that cabbage soup diet, I hear
it works wonders
The last time behavior this erratic was blamed
on a crash diet, Donald Manes was recovering from suicide attempt no. 1 (and
getting ready for no. 2).
And while I certainly don't wish a simliar fate on soon-to-be canned Mets scout Bill Singer, he really could've come up with a better excuse for his self-destruction routine at last week week's winter meetings than the following : (from today's NY Daily News) : In the immediate aftermath of the incident in Phoenix, Singer met privately with Duquette and offered his explanation for the incident, saying that he had been on a low-carbohydrate diet, which caused him to suffer a chemical imbalance in conjunction with drinking alcohol. "That didn't wash with Jim and it sure as hell won't wash with Fred," a Mets source said in reference to Mets owner Fred Wilpon. "Plain and simple, there's no excuse for that kind of behavior, and there's no saving this guy." Posted: Sun - November 16, 2003 at 10:47 AM |
