Dodgers Get Encarnacion, Marlins Dump Where and When They Can



L.A. have acquired OF Juan Encarnacion from the Marlins for a player to be named later. Encarnacion hit 19 HR's,drove in 94 runs and stole 19 bases for Florida in 2003, and should provide a boost for the National League's most anemic offense --- no offense intended, however, if you or a loved one suffer from anemia .

Encarnacion earned $3.5 million in 2003 and is due for a substantial raise via arbitration. If said raise is deemed too huge by LA ownership (whoever that might be), it would not be a surprise to see him non-tendered and available to all.
