Nothing To See HereThe trade that won't die is still dead, insist
both Boston & Texas representatives, denying an ESPN radio
report that the Red Sox and Rangers would meet this weekend to resume
negotiations in the Manny Ramirez/Alex Rodriguez talks.
Hard to tell who is more desperate for this trade to happen, A-Rod or Tom Hicks. But either way, if the clubs are talking again, it makes perfect sense for all parties to clam up and/or deny everything. Boston doesn't need to further antagonize Nomar, and Hicks can do without teasing his season ticket holders (all 500 of them) with the prospect of watching a hard-nosed pro like Manny patrol left-field.
