Schilling Ruled Out For Game 5, El Duque Gets Game 4 NodAs expected, Boston's Curt Schilling won't be starting a possible ALCS
Game 5 against New York on Sunday. Derek Lowe, he of the 6.39 ERA in
his last 7 appearances, will get call the call in Schiling's place.
A rainout Saturday or Sunday could result in Pedro Martinez starting Game 5, but it would have to be some kind of deluge for a postponement to take place. After throwing some 60 pitches in a bullpen session on Monday, and 40 more on Wednesday, the Yankees' Orlando Hernandez has been tapped to start Saturday's Game 4, where he'll face Boston's Tim Wakefield. I doubt any Mets fans will begrudge the classy John Olerud his moment of glory last night --- becoming the first player to homer in a league championship for four different clubs --- but it's pretty hard to stomach the notion that Roger Cedeno has a good shot at collecting a World Series ring.
