Size(more) Ain't EverythingNBC.com reported last week that actor Tom
Sizemore --- a fixture in some of Oliver Stone and Michael Mann's
worst films --- has been tapped to play Pete Rose in an upcoming ESPN
biography directed by Peter
Bogdonavich.
Actor Tom Sizemore will start anew in the acting business following his legal troubles by playing a controversial baseball star. Sizemore will star as Pete Rose in "Hustle" -- an original movie for ESPN. Sizemore was convicted last year of harassing, annoying and physically abusing ex-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss during the two years they were a couple. ![]() (Sizemore and Fleiss, shown in happier times, though maybe she found him annoying even then) Rose went through different troubles -- gambling, including betting on baseball while managing the Cincinnati Reds, which will be chronicled in the movie. "Hustle" starts shooting May 14 in Toronto. It will premiere in September. It is good to know that Sizemore was convicted of annoying Ms. Fliess, because I found his performance in "Natural Born Killers" to be amongst the most annoying in cinematic history, matched only by Robert Downey Jr.'s lame take on Steve Dunleavy in the same film. Wasting no time preparing for the role, Sizemore, already on probation, tested positive last week for methamphetamine. I've heard of method acting, but this is ridiculous.
