The trial in Kassel, Germany, heard how Meiwes also made contact with other perverts who fantasised about being eaten.

One was an Italian called Matteo.

Meiwes told the court: “He wanted me to burn his b***s with a flame-thrower and hammer his body down with nails while he was whipped to death. I found that a bit weird.”

He recalled five others who narrowly escaped being eaten by him.

An internet freak called Joerg met Meiwes several times — but Meiwes said he didn’t tuck in because the chemistry “wasn’t right”.

German sicko Andreas wanted to be “picked up in a cattle truck and slaughtered like a pig”. But Meiwes said: “I told him to get the train.”

He added: “We went to the house. I wrapped him in clingfilm ready for slaughtering. But he backed out so we just fooled around, drank beer and ate some pizza.”

Weirdo Dirk Moeller, a German living in London, told Meiwes he wanted him to pronounce a death sentence upon him “like in a court”.

Meiwes made a false death sentence document, but he said: “When Dirk came to the house he backed out. We ended up going out to the pictures to see Ocean’s 11.”

Alex, another German, wanted to be beheaded — but Meiwes refused because he was “too fat”.

Finally Alex, who lived near Meiwes, made it as far as being wrapped in clingfilm and hung on a meat hook with notes stuck on his body denoting various cuts of meat. But Meiwes let him down after he complained he was cold.

So there you have it. Even in the world of gay cannibal sex, meeting (and eating) the right person is a tricky proposition.

Meiwes began to fantasise about eating people at the age of 12 after watching “zombie films”.

He said he wanted “blond, slim people to slaughter, like Sandy in the TV show Flipper.”
