QPR 3, Burnley 0

That's 8 wins out of the last 10 matches for Queens Park Rangers, scoring 3 goals in 12 minutes this afternoon against a visiting Burnley side that was coming off a midweek Carling Cup defeat of Aston Villa.

Rangers are still in 4th place in the League Championship, trailing leaders Wigan by 4 points, and are only one point outside of an automatic promotion spot (Ipswich and Reading each on 30 points).

In the Premiership, Arsenal saw their lead over Chelsea shrink to goal differential, the former drawing 2-2 at home to Southampton, rescued by a stoppage time goal from Robin van Persie (above). Thierry Henry scored in the 66th minute for Arsenal after missing an earlier penalty. At the Hawthorns, Chelsea bombarded West Bromwich Albion, 4-1 behind goals from William Gallas, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Damien Duff and Frank Lampard.
