Elden Auker, RIP

Elden Auker, the Depression-era submarine-style righty who played a key role in the Detroit Tigers’ first World Series win (1935), passed away last Friday at the age of 95.

Though eulogized far and wide, I’ve yet to read a remembrance as stirring as the one composed by The Catbird In The Nosebleed Seats’ Jeff Kallman.
