Some poorly launched shots by Tim Thomas in the final minutes cost the Knicks a shot at beating one of the Western Conference’s elite teams on Sunday, a strong 45 minute effort going for naught against Seattle. Tonight at MSG, a similarly impressive team effort against the powerful Heat counted for zilch. Miami’s red hot 3 point shooting (10 for 16) and a buzzer beating jumper by Dwayne Wade (above) were the daggers, but an earlier Kurt Thomas miss was, uh, whatever you use to sharpen a dagger. On a night when hack-a-Shaq tactics paid relative dividends (O’Neal converting just 3 of 14 from the line). Miami’s policy of letting Jamal Crawford shoot from long range whenever he wanted was slightly more succesful.
