George Mikan, RIP

A 5 time NBA champ with the Minneapolis Lakers and prototype for NBA big men of the future, George Mikan has passed away at the age of 80.

The 6’10″ bespectacled center’s shot-blocking and rebounding prowess was such during his collegiate days at DePaul, that he’s widely credited with the NCAA’s establishment of the goaltending rule.
