(apologies for reposting the following, but I’m willing to go to greater lengths than usual to make sure Tennis’ show the same day is badly attended. Also, be advised that after the dust clears inside Beerland, Cheap Time are playing on the patio at 6pm).

….you’ll be thrilled to learn that after 2010’s amazing CSTB-sanctioned 7 band bash and 2009’s equally impressive bill at Beerland, we’ll be presenting another free show on March 16, 2011, from noon to 6pm. After winning the most recent Pazz & Jop Poll by a landslide, you’d think Columbus Discount’s Unholy Two would have better things to do than play some poorly trafficked sports blog’s party, but people do really desperate things for attention in Austin at this time of year. Equally confusing is the confirmed appearance of Los Angeles’ Wounded Lion, whose 2010 full length for In The Red Records was so impressive, it claimed spots 1 thru 8 on Tim Cook’s top ten for the year. Oakland’s Bare Wires are probably playing no fewer than 37 times in Austin that week, so we’re just lucky we’ve got the trio early (before they’re totally burnt out and hating life). Getting to see NYC’s Pop. 1280, Denton’s Wiccans, Cleburne, TX’s Fungi Girls and Austin’s fearsome foursome, James Arthur’s Manhunt in the daylight (OK, it’ll still be dark inside Beerland) would be a rare enough treat under any circumstances. On this occasion, you get to see them surrounded by agitated out of towners asking if you know how to find Club DeVille!
