Hammers Victorious In Curbs’ Debut

Nigel Reo-Coker’s 75th minute strike was the lone goal in West Ham’s 1-0 defeat of Manchester United, a crucial 3 points for the relegation battling Hammers, whose upset win made managerial debutante Alan Curbishley look ever so savior-esque.

Man Ure’s defeat, coupled with Chelsea’s 3-2 comeback win at Everton narrowed the gap between the Premiership’s leaders and the defending champs to a mere two points. It pains me to type the words but the 81st minute equalizer by Frank Lampard and eventually winner by Didier Drogba were both exceptional, long-range bits of artistry.

QPR slumped to 20th place in the Championship Saturday with a 1-0 loss to Wolves at Loftus Road. Monday morning, the R’s are greeted with news that Charlton are prepared to splash out on Ray Jones, the striker having turned down numerous overtures from the Super Hoops to sign a new deal.
