“Jump” Ball – This Wouldn’t Have Been Funny Last Month, Either
That “Jump Start” is out-funnied by “Boondocks” most days isn’t a revelation (it’s beaten by “Blondie”, “Tank McNamara” and “Mark Trail”, too), but if the timely humor isn’t gonna be humorous, can it at least be timely?
I had a brief conversation with Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder a few years ago. It was interesting to learn that the deadline for his strip is just 7-10 days before publication, as compared to the month+ lead time other comics traditionally have. – JS
