Let’s Spend Some (Half)Time Together : Jagger, Richards To Stagger Through Super Bowl XL

(another potential replacement for Michael Irvin on “NFL Countdown” flashes his credentials)

The only nice thing about this story is that Steven Tyler can finally, to coin the Bill Simmons phrase, die in peace. After their early days of being derided as Stones copyists, Aerosmith can now sit back and watch the Rolling Stones emulate Aerosmith.

Reigning Sound have been installed as the early favorites for the Super Bowl C halftime show.

I would respectfully take this moment to mention that the Reigning Sound might be the best band operating on earth right now. I saw three of the shows during their NYC sweep a month or so ago, and they are just mind bogglingly great.

even better with their regular bass player. more variety in the sets. but agreeed, they’re great. saw vee dee/reigning sound two saturdays ago, both reeked of awesomeness. i reeked of gin.

before my throat gets jumped down, I should state that I’m not suggesting in any way shape or form that Reigning Sound will ever approach the lameness of the the Stones circa 2005 or Aerosmith circa every album since ‘Rocks’. But the NFL could do a lot worse than inviting the memphis band to perform.

    Siegfried and Roy, for instance.

Aerosmith lame since ROCKS? I guess you haven’t heard PUMP yet. It’s worth checking out, CSTB.
