Mets Complete Mientkiewicz Trade
As tipped late last night, the Mets today acquired 1B Doug Mientkiewicz from Boston in exchange for 1B prospect Ian Bladergroen.
Bladergroen (above)made the Sally League All-Star team last year, hitting .342 for the Class A Capital City Bombers with 13 homers and 74 RBI’s in 72 games. A 44th round pick in the 2002 amateur draft, Bladergroen played first for the Brooklyn Cyclones in 2003.
