Wright Busts Out, Mets Punching Padres

Posted in Baseball at 10:46 pm by

One evening after making CNN International’s Highlight of The Day with a barehanded circus catch (sneeringly dismissed by Mr. Newsreader, noting that in cricket “barehanded catches are commonplace”), the Mets’ David Wright is putting on an offensive clinic against the Padres, his 6 RBI’s through 4 innings bringing his season’s total to 70.

How many runs might Wright have produced by now he not been stuck in the 7th spot most of the year?

Fran Healy is also putting on an Offensive Clinic of sorts on MLB.TV at the moment, though unlike Mr. Wright, he can do so without a bat.

Diminutive cameramen all over the world enjoyed the results of Kenny Rogers’ return versus the Red Sox earlier tonight. As did the millions of right-thinking individuals who deeply believe that Kenny Rogers sucks.
